Nani Ma, more affectionally known as Ammi, is the mastermind behind our unforgettable nankathai. Ammi is a skilled cook and baker who takes inspiration from the many cultures and cuisines she’s experienced throughout her lifetime. Ammi’s nankathai roots from the South Asian subcontinent and is weaved with her love, sincerity, and kindness.

Ammi learned to make nankathai from her mother in law, Amina Bholat, in the early 1980’s. Ammi’s personal touch and creativity over the years  has perfected the nankathai to what we know today. Her commitment to fresh ingredients  and perfect formation give her an excellent, delicious batch every time.

Aside from being the lead baker at Nani Ma’s Nankathai, Ammi is a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. When she’s not baking, Ammi loves spending time with her six grandchildren, gardening, learning about her faith, and enjoying a warm cup of chai with her cat (and of course a fresh, warm nankathai)!
